Bathroom Candles

Joyful Water

    Water plays a central part in Tantra. In this section we share with you ideas on how to immerse yourself, float, soak, bliss out in it. Meditation in warm water has many wonderful aspects. Water helps us to relax deeper. This enhances the healing effects of the meditation.

We come from Water

    Our lifelong journey starts in water. We spend the first nine months of our life in the amniotic fluid in our mother's womb. Our bodies are formed by 80% of water. We are water! Thus water carries the key to our present existence.

    Meditate in a bath with warm water and search for a deeper contact with your inner self and the watery world around you.

    Warm water melts away your stress and relieve your anxiety. In time you will begin to think only of the sacred space you and your friend are about to share. You will begin to feel a warm excitement invigorating your body, knowing that you are only beginning your adventure.

    Experience how nourishing and refreshing the water can be during your meditation. The cleaning ability of the water can wash the old away and make space for the new. It helps to wash the unlived emotions out.

Prepare a blissful space

    Your bathroom can be your quiet sacred temple. It can be your warm and peaceful retreat where you can bliss out in foam and water. Create a beautiful space for your water mediations. Make sure you remain undisturbed. Consider these points:

  1. Lights
    Dim the lights a bit. Avoid neon strip lighting. Use aromatic candles around the bath or the window sill.

  2. Music
    Play some soothing music (Smooth Jazz or New Age). Set the volume so that it is not too loud, but also not too quiet.

  3. Warmth
    Your bath room should be warm and cosy so you're comfortable even when wet. A temparature of around 30°C would be pleasant.

  4. Towels and Clothes
    Keep plenty of towels and comfy clothes handy. They will probably get wet which is fine and part of the game.

  5. Buckets
    Small buckets can be used for pouring water. Put wet towels or clothes into any bigger buckets.
